I ran across this video a few days back on my man, Dustin Sams' site. Check him out at http://www.dustinsams.com/. The geek or business term for social networking is Web 2.0. It means you can't just run out and throw up a digital billboard, and expect people to flock to it. You must "find" people where they live. It is the next generation, a whole new way to look at the internet.
So what does this mean for the church? How will we use the web to draw people? Will we go out and connect with people where they live? Or will we simply put up another boring and poorly designed electronic billboard and expect them to come to us? It's just one more way of asking the age old question. Are we going to be a people who say, "Ya'll come," or are we going to rally around, "Let's GO!" So church, are we going to run outdated software, or be church 2.0?
