Over the next several weeks we will be discussing our written objectives for the North Park Worship ministry. These have been prayed over, thought through, and much discussed. They go something like this:
The North Park worship ministry (team) exists to to provide and facilitate a regular weekend worship experience for the North Park family of believers which will -
1. give glory and honor to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
2. be pleasing to, and within the perfect will of, our Heavenly Father.
3. be motivated, informed, and directed by the Holy Spirit.
4. hold true to Biblical standards and definitions of Christian worship.
5. continue in keeping with the mission, vision, and purpose of North Park.
6. be artistically creative, stimulating, and Christ-honoring in excellence.
7. strive to be guest-friendly and culturally relevant in consideration of those who are not yet Christ followers.
8. give opportunity for service to the musically and artistically gifted in the North Park family.
I wonder, which one or two or these evokes your passion? Would you say that there is one that resonates with your spirit and gifts? Let us know in the comment section.

#3 has been on my heart and mind this week. I often forget what we are REALLY doing up there on that stage on Sunday mornings. I forget that not only am I to be warmed up vocally, but more importantly, I am to be warmed up in the Holy Spirit so to speak. I can't follow his lead if I'm not listening. I am ashamed to admit it, but there have been many times that I have just stepped up there and help sing some songs. I wonder what our service would be like if all of us, whether we are up on the stage or out in the audience, would be motivated, informed, and directed by the Holy Spirit?
